A tech pack is the most important document you need to manufacture garments. But creating tech packs takes a lot of work. I know this first hand after working in fashion for 15+ years and creating tech packs for hundreds (maybe thousands?) of garments that went through production.
This is why I created this Free Hoodie Tech Pack Template complete with everything you need for production. Whether you’re a startup fashion brand diving into hoodie manufacturing or a freelance fashion designer building a tech pack for your client, this template is for you.
2025 UPDATE: THIS GUIDE NOW REFLECTS MY LATEST AND BEST TECH PACK TEMPLATE YET.
It took over a decade to perfect my first tech pack template, and after years of testing, I’ve refined it even further. Every update is made to streamline your process, making it as easy as File > Save As.
Table of Contents
What’s Included in This Template:
- Cover Page
- Technical Sketches with Callouts
- Colorways
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Graded Specs
- Area for Comments and Revisions

Let’s go through each page one by one:
1. Cover Page
In the cover page, you can input important details about the hoodie such as style number / SKU, product name, season, vendor, etc. There is also a calendar that auto-fills based on the date you input on the “DATE SENT” window. Depending on your production schedule, you can adjust the formula as needed.

2. Technical Sketches with Callouts
The next page contains the technical sketch with construction call-outs. There’s also space below to add any extra detail sketches like the hood and kangaroo pocket. The Adobe Illustrator file of the hoodie tech sketches will also be provided so you can make any tweaks needed.

3. Colorways
A space for the hoodie’s colorways and color details on a table at the bottom.

4. Bill of Materials (BOM)
This page is where you can place all your materials and details – from your fabrics, trims, brand labels, care labels, and hangtags. Feel free to replace it with actual information.

5. Graded Specs
This hoodie tech pack is complete with graded specs from XS to XL sizes including tolerances for each Points of Measure (POMs). There’s also space at the bottom to add your POM Illustration Guide.
Note that these are measurements for just one style of fit! You may want a different style, so you may need to adjust the graded specs. Either way, you can use these as a starting point.

6. Area for Comments and Revisions
A page to write down your notes upon arrival of your first prototype. The measurement specs also auto-fill based on what you’ve placed on the Graded Specs Page. The deviance is also auto-calculated after you input actual measurements of the first prototype in the “1ST PROTO ACTUAL” column.

That’s the complete Hoodie Tech Pack Template!
