It’s normal to feel nervous, but Illustrator shouldn’t make you panic

I know what anxiety and panic feel like. These are normal emotions that we all experience. And there are times when they’re justified.

But there are times when you don’t have to feel this way.

And I don’t know about you, but I’ll take any chance I can to avoid these emotions. Because let’s be honest…anxiety and panic aren’t fun.

When it comes to Illustrator, I hear new users say things like this all the time:

“If I’m honest I was pretty terrified of learning Illustrator…”

“I know learning even a couple of AI things would make my life much easier…but I’m afraid of it. Sounds silly. But it’s true.”

“I’ve been putting off absolutely everything to do with AI. It terrifies me.”

I share these because I want you to know that you’re not alone. These feelings are normal.

But here’s the thing…you don’t have to feel this way. Why? Because you can’t break Illustrator. You won’t ruin your computer. Nothing bad can happen.

Seriously. I promise.

One of my great mentors taught me to approach new learning experiences with the “mind of a child.” And I think this is a perfect mindset for using Illustrator.

So get in there, have fun and play around like a kid. Don’t be nervous about messing up or feel terrified of breaking something. Because you can’t!
