PLEASE DON’T USE ILLUSTRATOR FOR THIS (FREE TRAINING)
May 11, 2017
Designers use Illustrator for a lot of things they shouldn’t, and I won’t lie, I’m guilty of a few.
Cropping photos? Why launch Photoshop when you can stay in AI and use a clipping mask? GUILTY!
Laying out line sheets? This one’s debatable depending on how many pages you have, but InDesign is where you *should* do this. Won’t lie, I’m GUILTY of using AI sometimes!
Tech Packs? Please, DO NOT do tech packs in Illustrator! It’s tedious and works terribly. This one, I am 100% NOT GUILTY. But designers – and many companies – do this all the time. Why doesn’t anyone tell them it’s inefficient and inaccurate to create tech packs in Illustrator?!?
Which is why I’m holding a free live training on Tuesday (5/16) @ 2p EST (check your timezone):
THE INDUSTRY INSIDER’S GUIDE TO TECH PACKS
(why you need one, what goes in it, and the best software to use – hint, it’s NOT Illustrator)
The training is full!
See you there!
P.S. It’s limited to 100 people and I guarantee it will fill up – so grab your seat now!
